We rejoice in that we have recently celebrated the first anniversary of the Salem Hispanic Church here in Colorado Springs. It was a joyful time as we have seen our church grow from about 12 to about 50. We have seen many come to Christ and several baptisms. The church has grown to the point where we need more programs especially for our youth. Please pray that we will be able to develop the leaders necessary.
Last week was somewhat bitter as one of our faithful men who served on our leadership team went home to be with the Lord. He suffered a severe heart attack and died about 24 hours later. Please pray for his wife of 56 years, Ana. His wit and wisdom will be sorely missed. Please pray for our leadership team also as his loss will greatly change the dynamics of our team.
Please pray also for the new church we hope to begin soon in the town of Pueblo, Colorado, a city 50 miles south of us. Pueblo is a city of about 102,000 which is 44% Hispanic. Rocky Mountain CBA (RMCBA) will help plant a Latino church. We are thankful that RMCBA will help with some of the start-up costs and the initial salary for the pastor as well as leasing the ministry a church building for a very minimal cost. MTTA has called and approved a pastor, Jose Quesada, to begin the work. He and his wife and two girls (4 and 6) presently are living in Chile. Jose has a visa, but they need visas for his wife and two children to come to the US. In order to get their visas they first need an appointment with the US counselet in Santiago, Chile and their visas will be approved or denied. Please pray: appointment will not be cancelled, they will have all necessary papers, and the person they meet with will be sympathetic to their desires. Their appointment will be Friday, June 25 at 8am Pacific Time and 10am Chilean time. Please begin praying with us now and take a moment at that time to pray for the above requests.
